Static and Video Editor (YouTube)

GrowthAssistant is looking for a skilled Video Editor & Graphic Designer to support our client's YouTube content pipeline. This role focuses on editing long-form interview content, designing high-performing thumbnails, and packaging videos for YouTube and social platforms. The ideal candidate has a sharp editorial eye, strong visual instincts, and can execute clean, polished work efficiently.

Salary Range: USD7.5 - 9.5 per hour

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Video Editing (Long-Form Content)

• Execute seamless, “invisible” edits for long-form interview videos
• Handle multi-camera switching, audio cleanup, and pacing to maintain viewer engagement
• Ensure consistent quality, flow, and polish across episodes

• Design compelling YouTube thumbnails and social images based on provided headlines and copy
• Apply strong judgment around layout, lighting, contrast, and composition to drive clicks
• Perform image manipulation, color correction, cutouts, and background cleanup as needed

• Create vertical video clips (YouTube Shorts, Reels, etc.) using provided timestamps and captions
• Optimize clips for clarity, pacing, and platform-specific formats

• Add lower-thirds, simple text overlays, and basic motion graphics as directed
• Enhance viewer experience without distracting from the content

• Maintain clean, well-organized project files and media libraries
• Ensure assets are properly labeled, stored, and easy to locate for future use

MUST-HAVES:

• Expert proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve
• Comfortable and efficient with multi-cam editing workflows
• Strong understanding of audio cleanup and basic sound mixing
• Advanced skills in Adobe Photoshop
• Experience creating high-performing YouTube thumbnails
• Ability to manipulate images (cutouts, background removal, color correction) to a high visual standard
• Highly detail-oriented with excellent file management habits
• Comfortable working with large volumes of footage and assets

NICE-TO-HAVES:

• Experience editing YouTube interviews or podcast-style content
• Basic After Effects or motion graphics experience
